The 33.6-56k dedicated service is a cost effective service for companies that need to have a group of people using the internet at any time, without dialing or even putting a modem in their computer. It's also suitable for people who don't leave the computer except for bodily functions.

This service includes:

  • 33.6 Kilobi, V.90 or V.92 internet connectivity for your business location depending on the phone lines
  • Maintenance of your domain name
  • IP number block for as many computers as you need
  • Usenet News access
  • Upto 4 email boxes on our server

The cost for this package including the features as listed above for a 33.6k, V.90 or V.92 link are $79/month, with a $50 setup fee. This does not include costs the phone company may charge you.

At your premises you will need minimum:

  • Computer or router with a V.34, V.90 or V.92 modem
  • small UPS (uninteruptable power supply)

More elaborate premise equipment might include:

  • Computer or router with a V.34, V.90 or V.92 modem
  • UPS (uninteruptable power supply)
  • Email/WWW/ftp/modem server (we can recommend or build you such a server)

Midcoast Internet Solutions can obtain and install these routers at a reasonable cost to you. We can also custom build electronic mail / general purpose internet servers for your company if that is necessary.

For reliable modems we would recommend USR Sportsters or Courier external modems.
