  • June 7th, 2010 Attention Waldoboro Subscribers;

    We at Midcoast Internet Solutions would like to remind you to vote tomorrow. And while you're at the polls, please consider voting in favor of article 44; updating the Waldoboro's land use ordinance to permit small towers for broadband Internet.

    Currently all towers of any shape or size are practically banned outside of a small Route1 corridor. MIS, ConnectME, and Waldoboro have a plan to bring broadband to most of Waldoboro, but we need the ordinance change to be able to construct small private towers. If the ordinance is not approved, we will not be able to bring much needed Internet to the areas of Waldoboro most in need. This project is entirely paid for by ConnectME and Midcoast and costs the town of Waldoboro nothing. We have worked with the town on the proposed changes and feel they will suit the needs of residents and this project very well. The ordinance is carefully written to continue the restrictions on cell phone sites, but allow smaller 1-2' wide towers like Midcoast uses and builds.

    Won't you vote in favor of bringing high speed Internet to your neighbors?
