• August 30, 2008 A power supply failed for one of our Access Point systems atop Ragged Mountain. A new power supply was delivered and installed this morning. This affected a minority of the customers who aim to Ragged Mountain.
• August 25, 2008 Another round of phishing has been reported, with many users asking about the email titled "Dear MIDCOAST.COM Webmail Subscriber." This is NOT from MIS; we do NOT need your birthdate in order to verify your web-mail mailbox. Please don't click any links contained in the email; please just delete it.
• August 20, 2008 A problem with one of our web hosting servers has knocked several domains offline as well as e-mail. Nothing will be lost during this time and should resume normal operation fairly soon. Updated 5:30pm. The server was only supposed to be out for a few minutes but a bad software update from a software vendor caused the machine additional problems. This was discovered and fixed. The server was also upgraded for more memory and hard disk capacity while this work was done.
• August 19, 2008 We are noticing an intermittent performance problem affecting North Haven and parts of Islesboro. This has been traced to a switch issue on North Haven and the appropriate replacement part is scheduled to be installed August 20. This will cause about a five minute outage. Update: The problem on North Haven has been corrected.
• August 15, 2008 12:15am. The server machine for www.midcoast.com and customer DNS will be rebooted for a software update at this time. This will take about 5-10 minutes. Many things will be affected during this work.
• August 6, 2008 Some Hope area wireless users who utilize Hatchet Mountain are experiencing a problem this morning. We have sent a crew to investigate. An antenna at the tower was replaced and this solved the problem.
• August 4, 2008 North Haven, Squirrel Island, Belfast, and part of Islesboro are fixed by 11:45am. We are continuing to work on Isle of Springs and the southern part of Islesboro. Particularly strong lightning has messed up a variety of things at the different locations.
• August 4, 2008 A storm related problem has caused an outage for Squirrel Island and Isle of Springs customers. We have someone on the way to troubleshoot things on those islands.
• August 3, 2008 A storm related problem is causing North Haven customers and other sites which come off of North Haven to experience problems. Other sites affected include: Northport, parts of Islesboro & Belfast. We are working quickly to correct the problem.
