• February 28, 2001 12:15am. dns.midcoast.com will be shutdown for a memory upgrade to 512MB. This will take about 10 minutes. This will affect surfing and mail-checking for most people during this time.
• February 24, 2001 8:50pm. Some of the people who use the Owls Head omni for wireless had trouble this evening starting at 6pm. Restarting equipment here has fixed things.
• February 10, 2001 4:00pm. The Sprint T1 is having trouble again. This will affect some dialup users while it is out. Using the proxy server address 10.0.0.3 and port 8080 will get you around this if you are affected.
• February 7, 2001 10:15am. People using the Wiscasset and Bath dialup numbers had trouble this morning due to a T1 problem in Damariscotta. This has been fixed.
• February 7, 2001 8:00am. For a short time this morning, people were not able to send mail using the midcoast.com smtp server. This has been fixed, and no mail was lost.
• February 6, 2001 1:00pm. CMP has been notified that the power is out on Benner Hill. This will affect wireless customers feeding off Benner and the 785 dialup number for the Union customers.
• February 6, 2001 One of the modem servers in Owls Head is acting up. This is causing fewer lines than normal to be available. This may cause ocassional busies on 593-9332 and a Waldoboro and Belfast number as well. A new modem server will be installed tomorrow.
• February 6, 2001 Parts of the wireless network are being upgraded today. This affects various wireless customers for short periods during the day, as well as the Union (785) dialup number.
• February 5, 2001 11:00pm. The Sprint T1 is having trouble starting at 11pm. Sprint has been notified. This will affect some dialup users while it is out. Using the proxy server address 10.0.0.3 and port 8080 will get you around this if you are affected.
• February 2, 2001 6:20pm. Customers on the virtual webserver drip.midcoast.com now have ssl / httpsd. Conchita.midcoast.com also has ssl / httpsd. This is for secure server web hosting features. • February 1, 2001 12:30pm. A new 56k number choice is available in Damariscotta. It is 563-8999. There 24 lines at this number. It is a different brand of hardware than 563-6622, so it may be helpful with Damariscotta customers whose V90 modems are not quite compatible with 563-6622. With some people using this, it will also elimate the ocassional busies on the 563-6622.
